AM YESHUA means People of Jesus.
We are a family of people with different backgrounds and cultures, joined together to become one new creation in Messiah.
We, the members of Am Yeshua, are all grafted into the olive tree of Romans Chapter 11. As such, we are fellow citizens of the Commonwealth of Israel, as described in Ephesians 2: "Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Messiah has done for us."
We describe ourselves as being Messianic, understanding that the Bible and the Holy Spirit are our guides and instructions for life. Therefore we do not recognize the Talmud or "oral law" as being authoritative, nor do we believe that the Talmud is necessary to interpret scripture.
We believe in the importance of emphasizing the whole Bible, Old and New Covenant Scriptures. We recognize the Torah, the first five books, as foundational, however, we understand that we must not overemphasize the Torah, to the exclusion of the complete Bible. We must go beyond Moses, cross the Jordan River, and enter into the land of promise. We believe that Yeshua is the living Torah and that the New Covenant is necessary to understand and interpret the Tenach (Old Testament).
We believe in the ongoing significance of Israel and God's plan for the Jewish people.
Our faith is founded upon a personal relationship with Yeshua, and for this relationship to be a healthy one, we must have a strong sense of who we are in Messiah.
